GOP Governor Schwarzenegger Proposes Massive Tax Increases

The governor's proposed budget includes all the tax hikes that Schwarzenegger proposed in November, including a temporary 1 1/2-cent boost in the state sales tax, a nickel-a-drink hike in the tax on alcohol, a new tax on oil refined in California and expansion of the sales tax to services including vehicle repairs and veterinary bills.
